My Musical Inspiration

Msgr. Rudy Villanueva

I love music. I cannot imagine what is life without music. Music is the universal language of the soul as the cliche goes. My first musical inspiration was Msgr.. Rudy Villanueva, a composer, songwriter and a very talented musical director of the San Carlos Seminary. I consider him as my first musical icon in Cebu. I really appreciate his musical prowess and ability to organize and train choirs. Although his temper is quite short, I find it natural for artists like him to be in such mood.

As the years went by my preference varied but sometimes I end up with the old school. I find happiness and fullfilment in songwriting, whether it be commercial or liturgical.
